  • Bates College | Michael Pollan and "In Defense of Food: The Omnivore's Solution": "An edited transcript of Pollan's Oct. 27 Otis Lecture at Bates." The transcript is missing the questions from the audience, which sucks, because they were really good questions and really good answers.
  • Overlook Press: I've just always had a soft spot for Overlook' s winged elephant.
  • LACMA and New Museum: Consideration of the source of the brand, originally written about on Hol's blog.
  • people/type: Pictograms of specific people, originally written about on Hol's blog.
  • New York Review Books - NYRB: Much more rigidly structured design than Hol is looking for, but as I've mentioned before, the *feel* of these books is as successful, or even more so, than the terrific look.
  • body/type: Typography from the human body, originally written about on Hol's blog.
  • Europa Editions: Import book design, originally written about on Hol's blog.
  • Melville House Publishing: They've recently redesigned their site and it's perhaps become a bit too structured, but in general I like their aesthetic. Comes across well in their printed catalogue and in their email newsletter too. Unconventional and original.
  • Marian Bantjes: Love all her work, but am particularly fond of the simplicity and elegance of the pixelated and ornamental font she used for the site navigation.
  • Pattern Foundry
